Uploading photos / files

Photos

  • Photos need to be stored on your computer in JPEG format (.jpg or .jpeg file).
  • This can be from either a digital camera or a scan of a normal photographic print.
  • Occasionally a photo will be in a format that cause the page to freeze. If this happens please try opening the image up in your photo software and re-saving it. If it still doesn't work it may be that the system is busy processing someone else's photos so please try again later.
  • The smaller the file the more likely you will get a sucessful upload. No photos are used at larger than 400 x 400 pixels so you can safely reduce the size to 400 pixels in your paint program without loss of quality.

Files

  • Files (for your employer leaflet or application form) should be in Word format (.doc) or Adobe Acrobat format (.pdf).
  • If you don't have either of these programs, many other programs will have the option to 'export' or 'save as' one of these two formats.

The total size of all files being uploaded at any one time must not exceed 500kb. If they do, simply choose one photo/file at a time, click Save and then when that one has uploaded successfully choose the next one. If an individual file is larger than 500kb you will need to reduce it in size before trying to upload it to the system.

We recommend a broadband connection if you wish to upload photos and other files for your employer profile page.
